Hi, I bought the GW7 to give (imperfect, but helpful BP measurements. Do I have to now change my phone (with all the aggro that brings??).

The FDA has not approved blood pressure on Samsung Galaxy watches. So no, it will not work.

Hi, sorry I didn't say I am in the UK, so the Galaxy watch 7 does offer BP in the UK as long as you re-calibrate monthly with a cuff.

(I just want it to tell me if mine spikes as a first warning rather than to tell me everything every day)

However, I fear that Samsung make this feature compatible solely with Samsung Galaxy phones rather than any android.

As customers, all we are asking to get the Blood Pressure Monitor enabled by Samsung as they have done for customers in Canada and other regions.
Whatever the reason, Samsung should be able to resolve it as it has for other regions. Samsung announced the Blood Pressure Monitor for their Watches more than 3 years ago.
Samsung is a giant company that certainly has the assets (cash & people) to get it done.

Likely, the FDA is the problem. Regardless, the US is a large market and Samsung should service the US customers accordingly.
