Galaxy WatchAre you using it as Bluetooth only, or do you have a number attached to it? Watches do not get carrier locked, as you are able to switch carriers without having to unlock the device. If you were able to add a number and a phone plan to the watch after you acquired it, then it is not locked. Watch updates don't come through the carrier anyway. They only way it would be locked is if the friend who gave it to you, got it free with their phone plan and did not stay with their carrier for the required period (usually 24 months) and did not pay the owed balance. If it never had a number attached to it, and was used as BT only, then it certainly would not be locked, because it would have had to be bought in a retail store. If it is, in fact, carrier locked, it may be best to just get a plan with the carrier it's locked to.
