Watch Face only showing digital clock after loading chosen watch screen

I just received the update on my watch and now the watch face doesn't display only showing a digital clock  - when I choose a watch face I have been using for a long time, it shows being chosen but then reverts to the digital clock again and I can not figure out why?  Any ideas?

Your watch face may not have been updated to be compatible with the new OS/UI.  See if there's an update available for the watch face or choose a different watch face to see if you get the same result.  Which watch and which watch face?

That must be what it was as I downloaded one of the suggested ones and it is now working!  Thank you!
