Just wanted to make everyone aware that the fluoroelastomer material that the marine band is made from is treated with PFAS (forever chemicals which never break down) during its manufacture in order to give it additional sweat and stain resistance. These chemicals are absorbed through the skin and, since they never break down, they gradually build up in the body.
Most of the rubber like bands on the most expensive smart watches ( incluing the Apple Watch) are made from fluoroelastomer, so Samsung isn't the only guilty party. But, it's wrong for them to use this material on something that is constantly pressed against the skin. Because of this, I replaced the stock marine band with a less expensive silicone one.
