Sleep timing causing inaccurate energy score

I am very confused about the sleep timing  for the energy score on the watch app. According to this, the ideal time to go to sleep is between 11pm and 2am. I wake up at 5:30am, so if I went to sleep between those times, I would be a walking zombie the next day. It doesn't make any sense at all. It's bringing my scores down and basically making me feel like I'm doing something wrong. Then in the sleep section, it recommends getting 7-9 hours of sleep per night. So these two things are conflicting. Please change this Samsung. No one should be going to sleep between 11pm and 2am on a working week night when they need to wake up early. That is unhealthy.

I am also retired and it's suggestions are WAY off for me. I've even taken a sleeping pill (just as a test). I KNOW for a fact that I was dead asleep (and also verified by video monitor) and only turned once or twice. My result was "needs attention". It said I only slept for 4 hours or so. Something is really wrong. This has all transpired since watch 7 & phone s23 updates this June 2025....

Sometimes I wonder if they make the UI update incompatible with the current watch to get me to chase the next watch. The opposite is true. This one tracks my physical activity (sort of, and you have to know what it is watching for) and that's all I really need. I'm not going to spend another chunk of money in hopes that they have solved Blood Pressure or Sleep Tracking. I have a cuff for Blood Pressure. I sleep when my body lets me, which is when it needs to sleep.

I also have this issue, I work at 4 am so I usually go to bed around 7:30 pm. There's no way I'm going to stay up until 11pm and get up at 3am for work 🤨

Just remove the energy score tile from your home page in the health app. You will be a happier person for it.

This is not a helpful reply at all. Some of us actually want it, but we also want it to be accurate. If you don't want it, then remove it for yourself and move on.

The energy score is utter nonsense, based on no science whatsoever. If you need some app to tell you how you are feeling, that's sad. Or, did it ever occur to you that it may well be a accurate, and you just don't understand/don't like the discrepancy between the sleep score? I've had so-called "excellent" sleep score but was not at all well rested, yet the energy score was high. It should have been a low energy score, because that's how I felt. It does not take into account your *actual* physical or mental condition. How on earth is knowing a bogus energy score going to help you in any way? Come back when it's real science based on real physiological measurements. Even then, it still will do nothing to guide you, as there are some things you can do absolutely nothing about.

You assuming we are using it to tell us how we are feeling and making goofy judgements off that and slinging insults is what is sad. We are asking advice on how to fix a setting, not to be harassed into turning it off completely just because you personally don't like it. If you don't have any actual answer to the question being asked, then don't answer at all. It's that simple.

Here's the answer: there is no fix for it. If you are dissatisfied, put in an error report.

So, it is helpful for you to say "remove it" but not for someone else to say it?   Very Zen.

I've never claimed to be "zen" or said to remove it, but I guess anything is possible when you just make up whatever narrative you want. 😂
