Galaxy Watch

I have a Galaxy S24, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy buds pro.

Every morning I go for a walk and start music on my watch to connected buds, my phone is a couple rooms away. Watch shows the watch icon so I know I am playing downloaded music from my watch. After I leave my house and get to the end of my driveway, every day, it switches to playing from my phone. My phone is out of range by then so nothing plays. So I have to go in and select playing from my watch (which doesn't always switch the first time).

I should also note that when I get out side I start tracking my exercise through Samsung health.

Any help getting it to stop switching to my phone when my phon e is out of range is appreciated.

Thank you

Try turning off the Bluetooth on your phone, to disconnect the watch from phone, before you hit play.

I have found that just by selecting the Bluetooth Audio button toggle in the watche's quick settings, helps lock in the buds pro 3 's as the connected device. Sometimes it can still be finicky though especially if I have been playing music via my phone and Android Auto in the car, it does not always want to switch to the watch.

It is nice to be able to go for a walk without bringing your phone and I wish this worked better as you noted.

Also, the action button for tracking exercise now only seems to change the mode on the watch to exercise mode when connected to the phone.
