Got my watch delivered today and went trough the setup.  I've had pretty much every version galaxy watch and it typically goes pretty smooth..  Before I started the 8 I backed up my 7 then turned it off.  Started the new watch and went though the screens.  Got to the section where it asked if I wanted to start it as a new watch or restore.  I picked restore but then got an error saying the direct Wi-Fi connection has been lost and could not restore data.  I thought no big deal I'll restore after it gets set up.  After the 8 was ready to go, I looked around on the phone wear app and selected restore. I got the same message. Odd because I've confirmed the new watch is hooked up to the Wi-Fi.  Called support and after trying a number of things support suggested (resetting the watch etc.) , I was told that because the watch isn't officially released, sometimes all the features aren't available and the restore feature isn't available.  I was told to wait until the 25th and try again.  Kind of bummed.  I'd like to use the new watch but don't want to go though setting it up the way I like. I thought I'd be able to just restore my settings. It's always worked fine previously. I guess I'll wait a few days and try again.  If it still doesn't restore, I plan on returning it. I was on the fence about upgrading to begin with.  I was told that I'm not the only one this has happened to.

After selecting restore I get this message.  So it will only set up as a new watch at this point.

I tried this restore yesterday and thought it was going to be ok but my Modul Class watch face was missing many items for the "complications". I even uninstalled and reinstalled but they weren't there or weren't working. So I reset again and set it up manually and everything is fine. This really should have worked better.
