Galaxy WatchMy watch is set to double press button to launch google assistant. It has now started to "tap the mic and speak" request. It used to go straight to listening.
I've uninstalled, and made sure both devices are logged in as same account.
Help!

Galaxy WatchIt's weird because the assistant launches properly when assigned to the knock function. But double tapping the button you have to press the screen.
If this was to prevent accidental activations, you'd think it would make more sense for it to be the opposite.
Samsung/Google - please allow us to double tap the button to instantly activate assistant instead of requiring this extra step. It's clunky.

Galaxy WatchIt actually does make sense that the tap mic to speak would be there to prevent accidental activation of the button. Many people keep their phones in their pockets and the button seems to activate a lot with leg movement (for whatever it's programmed for). It's the same reason they changed how many taps you need to activate emergency calling, and added the "press/hold, press/hold..." feature to it - many people were pocket dialing 911/emergency contacts. So, I imagine many people don't want the assistant activating in their pocket unknowingly and either not understanding the commands, or running commands based on what it hears you saying. No one needs a voice from their pocket saying, "I don't understand" (or whatever the assistant says when it doesn't understand).

Galaxy WatchUnderstand for phones. But for watches, unit is almost always in wrist. Bring this back.

Galaxy WatchI had the same issue just now with my phone. I had it set to launch with a long press of the side button. The final fix was to change the behavior for me. When I changed the side button hold to bring up the power screen, instead of launch assistant, then changed it back, it started working again. Maybe map the double tap to do something else and switch it back.
