Gemini Ultra Watch

I have the 2024 ultra watch and I updated it and says gemini on the app but its still using google assistant please help. Am I missing something?

Go to the Playstore on your watch, scroll all the way down to manage apps, go to Gemini, open it, and you will walk through the set on your phone.

Same issue here. On my watch, I have installed the Google Gemini for Wear OS. I open that program on my watch and it opens (as well as the button press from the top side button). However, the Google Assistant voice and icons are present. Not the Gemini ones. In the watch Setting->Apps->Default Apps->Digital Assistant App->Default App, I have Bixby and Google Digital Assistant, no Gemini. I have Google Digital Assistant selected.

But I am seeing Digital Assistant, not Gemini in my usage...not sure how else to get Gemini as the default.

In my settings on my watch it says I'm using Gemini but when I say hey Google is still Google assist and when I press my buttons on the side its still assistant

Really? See I don't see Gemini anywhere, except when I view the store. Everywhere else it shows Google assistant.

I have the same issue with no sign of Gemini to be chosen for Default App. 

My Watch Ultra is the 2025 version which came with UI 8 pre-installed. 

No clue how to fix this. Perhaps it won't work until my Galaxy S25 Ultra gets One UI 8 as well??

I'm still searching. I've found that while connected to my watch if I open Gemini on my phone, click my account in the upper right, scroll down and select "switch to Google assistant" then reopen Gemini on the phone and accept as default it will make Gemini the watch assistant. Sadly, you have to do this often, I find that anytime I charge it or it disconnects from my phone it will default back to Assistant and I have to do it again.

I'm having this issue on an 2024 Ultra and an 8 Classic. I use Gemini on my S25 Ultra as the default assistant.

Glad it helped! I've been doing it for about 6 months, but I'm still hoping for a permanent solution sometime.
