I've tried searching for this but all I could find is that the sleep tracking is fixed on the new watches. Not in my case though.

I have an S24 Ultra (not sure if that even matters) and the new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

On May 30th, I updated the Samsung Health app on my old Galaxy Watch 7. Since then my sleep has not recorded right. I experience gaps and the sleep tracking ends before I'm awake.

It seems like this wouldn't be a hardware issue since it started on my Watch 7 and has continued to the Watch 8, but here's a list of things I've tried:
- Cleared cache for all health apps on both the phone and watch
- Factory reset on Watch 8 (twice)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Samsung Heath on both the phone and watch
- Turned on then off any battery/power saving modes (also set apps to "unrestricted")
- Set heart rate to measure constantly
- Turning sleep mode on both manually and using a schedule

Tech support said I may have to send the watch in for repair, but I've had it for less than 2 weeks so that seems ridiculous. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've included screenshots of what I'm seeing along with the clear decline after 5/30:

I'm having the very same issue that you are. Mine is the Watch Ultra 2025 and I'm not happy with it at all. I am planning to call Samsung within the next couple of days but my previous experience with their support group doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence!

I'm having a similar problem that started on a Watch 6 and carried over to a new Watch 7 (pretty much rules out a hardware issue). Very suspicious that it started the exact same date as yours. In my case, rather than gaps, I am seeing long awake periods when I know I wasn't awake for that whole time. I too have tried re-pairing, Watch factory reset, app reinstall, and so on with no success.

I agree about it not being hardware. I did see some reviews saying the gaps were fixed on their Watch 8 but I don't know if it's true or what their setup is.

I've also discovered that during these gaps, there is no heart rate record as if the sensors are turning off. At no point do I see this other than during sleep mode.1754666775727.jpg

Definitely not a hardware issue. I'm on a Galaxy Watch Ultra and S25 Ultra. I have the same issues and it also disables the "raise to wake & touch to wake" for the display. This is an intended function for sleep mode but it's not re-enabling them when I turn sleep mode off when I get up.
I have a Galaxy Watch 6 Classic that does not have this issue.

May be similar issue. My sleep mode is taking about 1-1/2 hours after bed to actually start. It worked fine at first, but is wrong for about the last 5 nights. Ive just finished resetting the phone. If it doesn't work tonight I'll make one phone call to support. If no progress, will return watch.

I've actually experienced this as well. It makes me wonder if the reason there are gaps is because it measures a small awake period and then takes another hour or so to start tracking again. So far the responses to Samsung have not been great. Basically they're saying because of the movement tracking, there's nothing wrong with watch or software. Even though the drop off in sleep score after the 5/30 update had been insanely obvious. Last night I had a score of 18 with a delay in it starting the tracking then 2 large gaps during my sleep (and I was for sure asleep) and then it stopped tracking early.

All of a sudden my sleep score is always low between 5 and 30. Everything else works fine. Not sure if it's because of the One UI7 update.

My new Watch Ultra of 8/28/2025 is showing I am in bed recording sleep latency of 2-4 hours. I never had this result with my Galaxy Watch 6. Sleep latency was typically 4-10 minutes. My score is now 19 and was previously 70-90. Something appears wrong. Any ideas to help? All software is up to date. Is there a patch coming for the watch?
