I've tried searching for this but all I could find is that the sleep tracking is fixed on the new watches. Not in my case though.

I have an S24 Ultra (not sure if that even matters) and the new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

On May 30th, I updated the Samsung Health app on my old Galaxy Watch 7. Since then my sleep has not recorded right. I experience gaps and the sleep tracking ends before I'm awake.

It seems like this wouldn't be a hardware issue since it started on my Watch 7 and has continued to the Watch 8, but here's a list of things I've tried:
- Cleared cache for all health apps on both the phone and watch
- Factory reset on Watch 8 (twice)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Samsung Heath on both the phone and watch
- Turned on then off any battery/power saving modes (also set apps to "unrestricted")
- Set heart rate to measure constantly
- Turning sleep mode on both manually and using a schedule

Tech support said I may have to send the watch in for repair, but I've had it for less than 2 weeks so that seems ridiculous. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've included screenshots of what I'm seeing along with the clear decline after 5/30:

I'm still trying to work with Samsung to get this fixed, but the hoops they're having me jump through just to send files is getting ridiculous. First, it was "attach it to this message" (did that a few times), then it was "use the file share feature." I did that, but they didn't check it in time, so now the file is gone. Now they want me to dial some number and jump through a bunch of other hoops, just to send the data for them to probably tell me "everything looks normal" again.

I wish they would just go back to a previous version of the sleep tracking. But if this keeps going, this is probably going to be my last Samsung watch which is a bummer. I've been using them for years and years now.

Previous post 8 weeks sleep function worked once. Watch has been sent to Samsung repair. Spent many hours on phone with technical help, ended with being told to go to Assuriin. Even though all sensors cleared ok on Samsung test page, Assuriin said problem a sensor and they cannot replace, and I should contact Samsung repair. Missed return period by a few days. Otherwise I might no longer own. This watch has been disappointing in the fact that there are a million smart watches that profess to do BP. Glucose ect. I owned a earlier version of $50 Chinese model that did BP and sleep perfectly. Samsung advertises BP, but not available. Whoes fault? Sleep doesn't work. I can shake and movements watch all over my wrist when checking heart rate ot oxygen, no failures. But it cannot accurately record full night of sleep. We will see when Samsung returns it's diagnosis.

OMG, the same thing is happening to me. It started with watch 6, upgraded to 8, and after a couple of days, I got the same issue. Samsung said I have to send it, but I don't want to do it (I picked it up at Best Buy to avoid package theft). I tried everything, and nothing seemed to fix the issue.

Update: I realized that the problems with the tracking were happening because of my tattoos. I wear the watch on the right hand now, and it works perfectly.

Sent Samsung yet another message. Now the watch is recording me playing video games as sleep but then adds gaps/doesn't record when I'm actually sleeping and have the watch in sleep mode.1758466193035.jpg

Just out of curiosity, do you use the Always On Display? I am trying to determine if it's a fluke or not, but in the last 2 days, I've had my AOD off, and both nights, I've gotten regular sleep scores with no gaps. Again, it could be a coincidence, or maybe there's a really, really stupid issue where the sleep mode and AOD are fighting.

I have been using my watch to record my sleep but the last 3 nights, my watch did not record anything. I am connected and the band is snug. Any suggestions to troubleshoot?

Hello Tra92, Welcome to the Community. We know how disappointing it is when the watch stops tracking sleep.

In addition to making sure you are connected, and checking the fit, make sure power saving is turned off. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshoot/TSG10004960/

You can also try resetting the watch: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003368/

We recommend submitting feedback to Samsung: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692
