I am unable to add my American express card from the phone w to my Galaxy watch 6 classic.
The registration fails every time.
I have tried removing and re-adding it with no success.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I still have not been able to re add it again either.
I wonder if newer Galaxy watches have this issue as well or not ?

Just wanted to remind everyone that the problem with adding Amex card to the galaxy watch 6 classic has not yet been resolved.
I have also tried contacting support from within the Samsung Wallet app and they had no solution for the issue either.
Any feedback would be much appreciated

Did you re-contact Amex? This would appear to be something for Amex and Samsung to work out, since it only affect Amex cards. In the meantime, switch to Google wallet if you really want to use that card from a digital wallet. You can program the home button on the watch to activate Google wallet when you want to pay. You would have to switch it to your default wallet on the watch. On the phone, you can use them interchangeably without having to choose a default.

I contacted Amex but they completely gave up and told me to contact Samsung.

I'm sorry that neither entity seems interested in fixing this issue.  When you contacted Samsung support through the app, did you put in an error report, complete with logs, or just spoke to the text chat rep?  Putting in a proper error report with the logs, may show the programmers where the issue lies.  It is best to do this immediately after once again attempting to add the card to the wallet, so that the information is still contained in the logs.

There is no compelling reason to use one wallet over the other (in general), since they both are accepted virtually anywhere.  It's just that Samsung made it very convenient to use their wallet with the dedicated watch button and the quick access slide up on the phone.  If you ask me, Google wallet has a slight advantage in that it's linked with G-Pay for online payments.  Now that you can program the home button on the watch to activate the Google Wallet, or choose a watch face where you can add G-Wallet as a complication, there is no advantage to using S-Wallet if you want to use the watch to pay.  In lieu of the quick access slide up on the phone, you can add the G-Wallet icon to your favorites/quick access bar at the bottom of your screen.

The logs are collected automatically as soon as you start your feedback report.  There is a little window that comes up with the box automatically checked to send the logs.  The watch logs are embedded in the phone logs.  You are not supposed to close the members app until the log has fully been uploaded and you get a notification, saying your report has been sent.  You log should also be available on your phone.  It would be in storage/download/logs.

if you did not uncheck the box, the log was sent, if you closed the app and the log had not completed sending, you will receive a response to your error report stating that.  In which case, click the button at the bottom that says ask again, and attach the log (paper clip at top of window) to your response.
