Dear Samsung Health / Galaxy Watch Team,

As a daily user of the Galaxy Watch Ultra and an advocate for integrated wellness technology, Iโ€™m writing to request support for native heart rate broadcasting via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)โ€”specifically, the ability for the Watch to emulate a chest strap or armband and send live HR data to connected fitness machines.

Context
I currently use a NordicTrack S22i bike paired with the iFit armband to capture heart rate data during indoor rides. The bike sends workout metrics (except incline) to Strava, and I use Health Sync to bridge that data into Samsung Health post-workout. While functional, this setup creates redundancy and limits real-time fitness monitoring in Samsung Health.

Notably, competitors like Garmin and Polar already support BLE HR broadcasting natively, allowing users to connect directly to gym equipment without additional accessories.

Requested Features

To enable tighter integration between Samsung Health and third-party workout machines, I respectfully request:

1. HR broadcasting profile via BLE on Wear OS
 - Allow the Watch Ultra to act like a standard HR strap.
 - Support connection with fitness machines and apps (e.g., iFit, Zwift, Peloton).

2. Samsung Health recognition of external workout metrics
 - Enable Samsung Health to ingest and log machine-provided data during synced sessions.

3. Improved interoperability via Health Connect or Samsung Health APIs
 - Facilitate two-way sync with platforms like Strava, Garmin, or direct machine interfaces.

Why It Matters

As a wellness-centered user who values stewardship, precision, and accessibility, I believe Samsung has the opportunity to close a major usability gapโ€”especially as the Watch Ultra is fully capable of BLE broadcasting at the hardware level. This feature would enhance the user experience, reduce dependency on third-party accessories, and position Samsung Health as a more universal fitness hub for serious and casual athletes alike.

I appreciate your ongoing innovation and attention to user feedbackโ€”and Iโ€™d be grateful to see these capabilities included in an upcoming update.

Thank you.

Possibly but if Polar and Garmin have this feature, Samsung should also be able to garner approval.

You want the competitors freatures, buy the competitors products. You should also send your feedback/request via the feedback link in the support tab of the members app

Samsung borrows features from competitors like Garmin and Apple. It is not an unreasonable request.

Regarding the feedback to Samsung, I do that as well under suggestions. The purpose of posting here in the community is to open a dialogue with other Samsung customers.

I don't know about you, but I buy my devices for the features I want/need now, not what I hope they will add later. If a device doesn't meet my current needs, I don't buy it. If it's one I already own and my needs change, I look for something that meets them. I'm not bound to a brand.

Samsung, like most tech companies, updates features over timeโ€”just recently adding antioxidant tracking and vascular load through OneUI 8.

Thatโ€™s precisely why forums like this exist: to surface reasonable, forward-looking requests from invested users.

Iโ€™m not shifting ecosystems over one feature. My request is technically feasible and already has a workaround, as Iโ€™ve described. So whether or not it's implemented, Iโ€™ve covered my bases.

I recognize you have a different approach, but your comments donโ€™t really pertain to the substance of this thread. I wonโ€™t continue down a path thatโ€™s more argumentative than constructive.

Thanks, and Iโ€™ll leave it at that.

Please add Bluetooth External Heartrate Monitor support to Samsung Health on Galaxy Watches. It is insane that my Galaxy Watch Ultra lacks this feature in 2025. There are no hardwear limitations that would prevent this capability, and third party apps like Gear Tracker II are very frustrating to use. I know this has been brought up before, yet there has been no signs of progress. Many of us use our "Ultra" watches for intense training periods and long endurance events, and yet we are unable to pair HR monitors with the watch.

It's 2025 - please fix this.

There are several heart rate monitors that are compatible with the health app. They are listed in rhe health app settings under accessories.

Not with the watch though. Which is a huge miss.
