rcs color chat issues involving esim

so past weds i got s25 plus phone i try to go to at and t store that night they were about to close but guy activated phone put it in and gave me sim card instead of me waiting i decided to smart switch

however i went back to store next day guy wanted to smart switch my old phone s20 plus to new phone s25 i remember he asked my phone number wasn't sure why

i was there good 30 mins with my dad i didn't know when went out for lunch when click on google message knew something was funny sure enough when i open up sim manager somehow guy decided to remove sim card and activated esim

i had dark blue customize my brother rcs chat when he message me early friday morning i notice when on his end color was default to light blue on his side and black on mine besides fact that i had turn on automatically previews to show all previews he sent me a link but no pic and i know that if you 1st set up google message on a new phone when you got that turn on past link messages don't know but new does so i'm little confused

my s20 plus when i was made to go from samsung message to google message that had sim card i could change color no issues rcs chats
my mom and dad recently got iphone 16 my mom text message me instead dark blue its still default blue and when somebody send a link and i had show all previews it will show it

it seems no matter what color change i do and i have try to clear data removed update but nada it goes back to default back to light blue color

now is it true that in order for me to change colors and i still don't know why that guy removed sim card that was just put in night before activated esim<-never wanted in 1st place that i have to go back to store today have the insert sim card and then colors will work rcs chat whatever color i change?

i don't understand why esim in when you try to color change rcs chat it won't do it just defaults light blue color i assumed this also might fixed display pic when somebody show me a link when i have automatically previews to show all previews eh

i hope somebody respond asap driving me crazy every since this happen to me past thurs i'm still sour i even talk to at and t store on phone and he's puzzle onto why guy removed sim card shouldn't have done that activate esim never tell me he was going to removed it anyways

Well, this rambling, unpunctuated post is any indication of how you communicated with the AT&T person, I'm sure they didn't understand what you were asking them to do. They probably thought you wanted to switch from SIM card to e-SIM. If you bought a carrier locked phone (or even an unlocked phone) from Samsung or any other retailer, all you had to do was switch your SIM card from your old phone to your new phone and copy your data over via Smart Switch.  A visit to the AT&T store would not have been necessary.  Just go back and ask them to deactivate the e-sim and give you back a physical SIM.  

I also do not believe that there is a difference between how an e-SIM communicates vs. a physical SIM in regard to how an app's settings respond.  I would try uninstalling Google Messages and reinstalling it.

like i said weds night i  was over there at before closed guy on activated phone and i asked sim card and he put it in couldn't smart switch but i kindof did that night should had waited

you see i couldn't figure out that in order to change incoming mail sound at the time and didn't back up sms mms after i did smart switch 

i learn that you have to go into advance settings in notifications to turn on notification categories because i clear google messages and went back up to google by google one half of my chats disappeared

i did sms backup and restore i should had transfer back old phone to new phone should had done just download samsung message and switch back

when i went back to store he did smart switch again but before did that he remove sim card<-i never asked you can't put a sim card from old device if you leaving verizon and going to at and t they give you their own sim card

you do know what talking about right

i asked somebody who smart switch their phones few times who had a sim card asked if they can change color rcs chat and did 1 person to red and said yes instantly however he had sim in i did have a sim in night before then it was taken out next day and activated esim meh

you can't really uninstall google message because its pre install on s25 phones clear data doesn't work either

i no longer have  old phone because verizon trade in s20 plus at and t guy factory reset and sent it back thurs afternoon btw

i just hope when i go over there take off case put on i try to take off couldn't there some grove thing right side have to do

all the man if truly wanted to smart switch see if i did it right despite already did it night before was just that didn't really need to remove sim card i still don't know why did that

surely everything will work once put sim back in today and next time somebody chat and i got color change it will show that color like it should instead default light blue and black on my end 

nobody did message me weds night when had sim in if did and i had color dark blue if my brother text me and it show that color then i would know what issue was after took out esim thurs afternoon but only found out something wasn't right color change after guy esim  activated thurs afternoon and discovered color no change when brother rcs chat back and it default light blue

You did not say you switched carriers.  In any case, there was no reason for them to activate an e-SIM.  However, e-sim or physical SIM, there is no reason it should affect Google messages and its theme at all--otherwise everyone on AT&T would have this issue.  Even doing Smart Switch a second time, SS will only transfer what was not already transferred over.  Your best bet right now is to uninstall Google Messages and reinstall it.  It's more likely something got scrambled in the multiple data transfers.  Also, if you want a physical SIM, you are entitled to have it, so if you want them to change it back, tell them so.

Pre-installed or not, Google messages is not part of the operating system and can be uninstalled.  If you cannot do it through the uninstall process on the phone, you should be able to do it through the app store by going to the install page and selecting "uninstall". However, you should be able to go to the apps list in the phone setting and select Google Messages and then choose to uninstall it.

well i wanted to go yesterday but started to rain my dad didn't take me will take me today

if clear data doesn't work then will uninstall and install it back work?

what do you have on your phone esim or sim card if esim can you change color rcs chat when see preview when that person message back the color should change to that color correct

if you got a sim card you know what i'm talking about since i know it used to work verizon phone s20 plus back in oct last year when jump ship samsung message to google message at the time only my brother and youngest daughter had rcs and when i color change to dark blue type back saw color 

when i go to store today i'm going to challenge them 1st off said should had never taken sim card out and i want to see in person i bet they are on sim cards  if any of them on esim when go to google messages rcs chat color change it if that color change happen i did somewhat when i lost my messages google message when did smart switch didn't back up sms msm instead of me download samsung messagen and then went back to google message

i kindof download on old phone sms backup and restore transfer them to new phone am not sure that was cause of it then again guy did did smart switch at store then remove sim card after put it night before active esim
