How does this phones default notification settings come? show persons name or not?

Hey, how does this phones notifications come out of the box? Does it pop up with the persons name when a text message comes or does it just say "messages." Im talking before you even mess with the settings at all, right out if the box as default how do the messages

If you haven't signed into any accounts and no contacts are on the phone I believe it will just display the telephone number.  I've always signed into everything and had contacts on my phone instantly so Im not exactly sure

everything is signed in and all my contacts are there. when I unlock and swipe down their name is there. Im wondering if when you first got the phone did the persons name pop up on the home screen or just "messages" until you go in and change the notification settings?

im pretty much just wondering what notification settings for text messages come as the default right out if the package for this phone

Mine has always displayed the name of the contact since I automatically sign into my google and Samsung account when I setup the phone if no contacts are on the phone it should be just displaying the number and the default notification tone assigned in settings

do you remember which apps come as default on notifications? I assume probably messages, email?

I'm pretty sure all of the apps have the Notifications toggled on my default

I agree with garyb82 but having nothing in contacts it won't know who it is beyond the phone number
