Galaxy S25
I have a new s25 plus and it tried to charge it in my BMW's car charger. It starts blue and then after about 10 to 30 seconds it turns yellow. I took it to the dealer and put in two iphones, an s24 in an s24 ultra all of them charged.
My partner has an s25 + and it has the same problem... won't charge. I took my phone to T-Mobile and the guy there had an s25 plus that he put in my charger same thing it went from Blue to yellow in about 30 seconds.
I called up Samsung and the guy wants me to dofactory reset which I'm not going to do because it charges just fine on a regular wireless charger and three different s25 plus' all show the same problem so I know that it's a Samsung problem.
I'm posting this here to call attention to it or to see if anyone else has had this problem. Thank you

A factory reset may solve the problem. Just back up the settings, themes etc before resetting the phone. Then try charging the device before putting everything back. If that works, then enable your backup. If the error happens again, it may be something in the backup. Either way, if a reset is not performed as per Samsung customer service, there will be no other help offer.

Samsung S25 series phones are not compatible with the BMW Qi pad. I saw this on a board in the UK.

Thank you but that makes absolutely no sense that the same problem happens on three different devices. If it were just my device I would say yes I'll do a factory reset but when every Samsung Galaxy s25 plus I put in the car does the same thing I don't think a factory reset is in order.

Then perhaps it is the car having the issues. Is there an update for it to get up to speed to newer devices (how old is the car?)? Also, apologies for the garble in the first sentence, dyslexia on top of moderate ADHD is not fun.

That is because the charging ports in cars are not powerful enough to charge the S25.  Even on the older phones, it was a trickle charge at best.  You might have to actually buy a car charger which produces more power than the USB charging ports.  Perhaps the very newest cars may have more powerful USB ports.  The fact that your phone charges by other means should tell you it's not the phone.

It's not the USB charging port that is the problem. It is the built-in wireless car charger where I just lay my phone flat on the charger in the car.

I still think it's not powerful enough to charge the new phone.  Perhaps BMW needs to make an adjustment. How old is the car? It was likely fine for the phones up to the S24, but the S25 is a different story.  You might have to use an external wireless charger.  The fact that it charges elsewhere and other people also had issues, would indicate it's a car issue, not a phone issue.

It is a 5w charging pad, that's why it won't work with a S25 series phone

LOL I can totally relate.
It's something to do with the car I'm sure since the other s25 pluses had the same problem. The older phones work so it's either a Samsung thing or a BMW thing. Either way the rep at the BMW dealer said that he would report it but I don't know how far that'll go.
