The One UI 8.5 beta program was initially rumored to start in late November 2025, possibly around November 24, but has reportedly been delayed. 

While the exact new date is unknown, sources suggest a November release is now unlikely. 

The stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026.

You were provided a method to silence your phone using volume buttons in your previous post.

Here it is again, in case you missed it:

Settings > Modes and Routines > Routines. Tap the + in the top right.

If: button action > volume down > press and hold

Then: Sound Mode > Silent

Save the routine. Your phone now silences when you long press volume down.

Note: This method requires Routines+ to be installed.

If you are willing to go so far as to join a beta program and install experimental software to potentially restore this functionality, you should also be willing to use the current recommended workaround.

You can do this today and make your phone work the way you want it to without having to wait for devs to restore the function (something there has been no indication they intend to do.)

There has been no official announcement. No one here has access to Samsung's internal plans and timelines.

Rumors are rumors and leaks are leaks. Everything is speculation until an announcement is made. When/ if that happens, you can become a beta tester by visiting the discover tab, navigating to the beta program banner, and joining the program if your device is eligible.
