Once upon a time the AOD notification icons were colored to each App, for example Whatsapp was green and Instagram was red, which was extremely useful.

But now they're all white. And I have to squint or bring my phone closer to tell them apart.

I would like the option to choose my own colors for AOD notification icons specific to each app.

I have never successfully gotten edge light to work either.  The only time I've ever seen its effects was when testing the effect.  It could be that I just missed the edge lighting notification when a notification came if I was not looking at the phone, it doesn't seem to stay on very long, which actually makes it useless as an effect or an accessibility option.  It should at least repeat at specific intervals.

Edge lighting cannot color aod icons. There is no such option even on good lock

Correct. As stated, the icons are now monochrome, but edge lighting shows the correlated app color on the AOD.

Every single phone manufacturer uses the exact colors and graphics of the actual apps for their Always on Display except Google and now Samsung which is absolutely stupid!!! I want to be able to glance at my screen and see what notifications I have and individually colored icons allow for that. Samsung ruined their Always on Display with One UI 6.1. It's a shame really. They used to have one of the best.

Bump, still waiting 4 years for them to revive this handy feature. Makes no sense to remove this quality of life feature in the first place. At least give us something in Good Lock.
