Hello,

I just upgraded from Galaxy S22 to S25 PLUS on AT&T and having trouble setting up Visual Voicemail.

It seems that the app  cannot access/process my account information in my AT&T Voicemailbox.

Here is what happens:

  1. Initial setup screen, tap "Start". The little dots spin for about 30 seconds with the message "Please wait while we check your account information".
  2. Next thing that pops up is Voicemail Setup with the following:

The app hasn't received setup information, but you can still attempt to set up Visual Voicemail
* Tap the Setup button below to set up Visual Voicemail

* Enter your mailbox

* End the call

* Continue setting up Visual Voicemail

Tapping the Setup button successfully calls my Voicemail Box, which tells me how many messages I have, etc. just like calling in directly; including new voice messages that have been called in for testing purposes. Upon ending the call it says "Please wait while we check your account information."

  1. Which leads to the next screen that says:

An account verification hasn't been received yet.

* Verify your network connectivity

* Call your voicemail again and make sure you access your mailbox successfully

* Contact support to verify that your Visual Voicemail service is activated.

This is an endless loop that goes back to the top.

I know I have made at least 20 attempts all with the same result.

The voicemail icon on the telephone keypad brings me to the top of the above endless loop.

I just completed a  1 hr 45 min call with AT&T Support (Level 1 and Advanced Technical Support), followed by a 1 hr 30 min call with Samsung Support.

Both of which were unable to resolve the issue and both pointing the finger at each other.

The AT&T team admitted this is the first they heard of this issue.

The Samsung agent conferred with the team on multiple occasions.

Incidentally Visual Voicemail cannot be uninstalled (that option doesn't exist) it can only be "Removed"

Also there is nothing in Play Store for Visual Voicemail for AT&T or anywhere on the web, except for 2 older versions that are incompatible with the S25 PLUS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it can be determined who is responsible for this.

Thanks

Tony

Ok problem solved with an AT&T 611 agent who reset the voice mailbox on the back end for Visual Voicemail. Total time was 10 minutes.

This was the 4th AT&T agent who I spoke to. One of them was on the Advanced Support team. Plus spoke with Samsung Support. Also went to a Geek Squad location and visited IBREAKUFIX shop. None of who had any idea. Not to mention 3 people in the AT&T retail shop.

Which goes to show that they are not all equal.

@Members_c7kvw8f Voicemail is a carrier provided service. Working with AT&T is the recommended path to resolution.

Personally, I gave up on the carrier's voicemail and am using Google Voice as my voicemail. You can sign up for a free Google Voice number and configure your service so that don't answers, or busy, go to the voicemail number. Google Voice not only provides a visual interface and recording, but it also provides a text transcription. The Google Voice is available via the app on your phone or via the site https://voice.google.com/

I am considering this.

But Voice Mail works. I just don't have a visual display of the directory of saved and new messages. I feel like it is 1975.

My current theory is this is a defect that will get fixed in a subsequent release.

But thank you.

I'm having problems with their stupid visual voicemail. In settings there is nothing that says messages will only be kept for a certain period of time. I noticed older voicemails that I didn't delete have been deleted so I started to archive them because I didn't know what they're doing. Whenever I went to my archive I noticed some were now missing. The last time I was in the archived folder I was listening to one of them. When  I got back to the archived main screen the last four archived messages were suddenly gone and now have none left. I must have archived about 10 to 15 messages that were important. I need to call but I gotta make sure I have the patience or enough drugs so that I don't verbally assault anyone because it's gotten to that point. And that's just one of the problems I'm having with my S25 ULTRA.

Go to settings, apps, type in the search box, Voice Mail, go to storage, clear cache and Data, open it again. You should now be able to set it up.

Thank you but this has been done multiple times, including Force Stop and restart.

It appears that Visual Voicemail is not receiving a verification from the carrier's mailbox.

Again, I am beginning to believe that this was an oversight on the release and that it will be addressed eventually. Someone goofed up somewhere.

I do not like the Visual VM app!  I have Galaxy 25+ as well.  Can't remove it, disable it  or hide it.   I've  spoken  with  ATT folks 2 separate times.  2 months apart.  They removed it from my service acct, however, I think when updates were pushed out , they must have included visual VM!  So I'm again  on the phone with ATT.  They insist  I can remove  it from my phone!!!  Argh!  I'm not totally incompetent.   They clearly  know very little about how to fix this issue.  I JUST WANT IT OFF MY PHONE TO NEVER BE USED AGAIN!    I hope someone can help.
