Galaxy S25I am facing an issue with my brand-new S25 Ultra, as it is not recognizing the physical SIM card and only displays 'Emergency Calls Only.' I have tried all the troubleshooting methods available online, but the problem persists. I previously used the same SIM card in my S24 Ultra without any issues, so I am confident the SIM itself is functional. Given the significant investment in this device, I am extremely disappointed to encounter such a problem. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue as soon as possible. Clean the SIM Card
Gently wipe the physical SIM using an alcohol wipe to remove any dirt or residue.Toggle Airplane Mode
Turn Airplane Mode ON.
Wait for 1 minute, then turn it OFF.
Force Restart the Phone
Press and hold the Power Button + Volume Down Button together for about 10 seconds.
Your device will restart.
Reset Mobile Network Settings
Navigate to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Mobile Network Settings.
This will reset all carrier and SIM-related settings.
Clear SIM Toolkit Data & Cache
Go to Settings > Apps.
Tap the three-line icon with a downward arrow to enable โShow System Appsโ.
Search for โSIM Toolkitโ, tap it, then go to:
Storage > Clear Data & Clear Cache.If you have dual SIMs, repeat for โSIM Toolkit 2โ.
Reinsert the SIM Card
Turn off your phone.
Remove the SIM card, then reinsert it securely.
Turn the phone back on.
Final Step: Let It Settle
After powering on, do not use the phone for 10โ15 minutes.
The SIM slot may temporarily display โNo SIMโ โ this is normal.
After some time, the phone should detect the SIM.
Then:
Go to SIM Manager and set your Primary SIM.
Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF one more time.
Success! SIM Detected
Samsung S25 series phones appear to run a verification algorithm for physical SIMs, which can take a bit of time โ unlike eSIMs, which activate almost instantly.

Galaxy S25When I had the phone, even before I submitted the request to replace it, I tried all of these ways, but none of them worked. That's why I submitted the request for a replacement. And the replacement one has been working fine since I received the new one. It's a quality issue; Samsung has to look into the quality.

itโs barely 4moths I purchased it. How do I put in a request for a replacement.

Galaxy S25Ditto. I'm on chat right now with my carrier trying to figure out this problem again. I've had the S25 Ultra for about 3 months. Over this 3-month period, I've done an update and restarted the phone 3 times. 3 out of 3 times, the calls and texts stopped working. On the 3rd time, carrier was about to send me to Samsung to try to figure it out because they were out of options. I asked if we could try one more thing and switch over from the physical sim to an e-sim. It worked. I thought the problem was taken care of until today, when I updated and restarted my phone again. I'm not sure if it's the update that's the problem or the phone restarting. I'd really like to figure this out so it won't happen again. I've gone all day today without my calls coming through and didn't realize it until a co-worker got calls asking if my phone was working.

Galaxy S25Sorry did you ask for a new phone or new sim card? I'm having the same issue. I purchased a s25 unlocked transferred my sim from my old handset into my new phone, it worked for 15 mins. then it stopped working. Tried everything nothing seems to work.

Galaxy S25I have the 25+, got it 2 weeks ago and taken it to AT&T three times for sim issues. It just stops reading them and I cannot make calls or receive calls. The have tried esim and physical sim. So frustrating, I am sorry I traded my S22 in on this new phone.

Galaxy S25I have replaced my S23 Ultra with my S25 Ultra. I understand your concern. Even when I had this problem, I requested a replacement, and when I got the replacement, that one worked perfectly fine from the day I received it until now. It's a quality issue in Samsung itself. Samsung has to look into the quality, as these phones are very expensive, and no customer will accept this type of phone and deal with so much frustration.
