Hello All,

I recently upgraded from S21 to S25 Ultra and am finding that I am not able to receive text messages from iPhone users within a group chat.

Oddly, ZERO issues when I text Iphone users individually. The issue only appears when more than 1 person is in the chat. Iphone users in the group chat can see other iphone users replies, though (making it seem like I am ignoring everybody...sadly like my wife and young daughters who are iphone users).

RCS and MMS are set. Group texting enabled, cache cleared, software updated and carrier (Cricket) said network settings correct. Applied other settings reccomended in other forums. Reset network settings.

Zero issues from other Android users in a group chat. Iphone users will only see "unable to send" alerts ONLY IF they go in to text mr individually.

Google Messages works with iPhone Group Chats. At least on my S25 FE.

@userXm35qnSTrA what messaging app are you using? If you are using Samsung Messages and have residual carrier RCS support, that may be where the compatibility issue lies.

Most carriers are transitioning to Google's version of RCS because it runs through Google's servers, tends to be more compatible with iOS, and doesn't require the carrier to build and maintain their own RCS infrastructure.

If you haven't switched already, you will need to transition to google messages to retain RCS Chat features going forward.

Explains a lot. Tried Google messages and did not like the interface. Went back to Samsung Messages.

Samsung Messages is officially being deprecated. They are sunsetting the app.

I don't fully understand their approach or timeline, but rather than discontinuing it instantly they have chosen to gradually remove more and more features to encourage users to switch.

The official guidance is to switch to Google Messages ASAP. Change can be difficult, but once you switch you will find that Google Messages is much more functional and more more compatible with iPhones.

They should just pull the app off everyone's phones already.  So what if there will be a mighty roar of despair among diehard SM users?  Samsung has already proven that they are indifferent to what users want.

Appreciate the replies but ended up running into the fix myself. Chat features was off by default in SM....as soon as I turned it on, received 218 messages within the first few minutes. I assume "chat features" is Samsung lingo for RCS?

Regardless, like the SM app better the GM. Fits what I want. Not everyone wants all of the bells and whistles.

You are going to have to switch eventually, especially as you start running into issues communicating with iPhone users or sending media.  But, I see that you are one of those who will hold on to SM until it's last dying gasp.  Only 2 carriers support Samsung's version of RCS, so if you are able to use it, you must have one of those carriers.  What bells and whistles are you referring to with GM?  There are none - it's a functional app with some neat features (archiving and spam control) that SM does not have - no bells and whistles, other than that it will be the messaging standard going forward.

Samsung is no longer supporting their own app and features are breaking down or being removed from it practically daily.  The only reason you still have access to the app at all is because you have an S25.
