After I execute "Copy to clipboard", how can I access the clipboard so that I can paste the clipboard text to a file on my computer?

Thanks for your help,

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do?  You can't copy from the clipboard from one device to another.  You can open a note on your phone long press and paste what you last clipped into the note.  What does this have to do with SMS backup and restore? There is nothing to copy to the clipboard in SMS backup and restore.

I accidentally keyed in from. It should have been to.
I know very little about how the app works.  I don't recollect seeing instructions for how to use the app. Can you tell where to learn more about it?
From what I read about it, it will do what I want. Namely, copy the text of a text message to somewhere that I can view the text on my computer. Maybe Dropbox.
I appreciate your help,

Open the app, tap on the 3 lines on the top rleft, go to settings, back up location, pick where you want to back it up. Then on your computer, download from which ever drive you set as your backup location.

SMS backup and restore is a very simple app. You set you set you storage location, select all or selective chats to save and a file is created and saved in that location. Your coices are local (phone, flash drive, other connected device, Google Drive, DropBox or OneDrive. You can read the conversations in the app from the storage location. You can print them. You can export a chat into html format so it can be read in a web browser if you transfer the file to a computer.

It seems that those should indeed be simple tasks.  Is there a place I can look to learn how to do those tasks on my phone?

The app is pretty straightforward . There is a help section. Tap on the line menu on the top left and select help. It will open a web page with the FAQ.

As for the copy to clipboard aspect.  If you open the backup file in the app and tap on the "copy to clipboard" option for a text, unless you have the clipboard edge panel, you really can't "open" the clipboard.  However, you can open a note or an email, long press on a blank area of the note and paste the copied text into the note or email.  You can then email the text to yourself for download or copy/paste on  your computer.
