Go to Galaxy Store (the store app is already on the device), search for and download "Good Lock". Open it then then get the plugin "QuickStar". Open QuickStar, toggle it "On" and while there, click on the section "Clock Settings" and choose the time format that fits best.

Thank you. You should be employed by Samsung, because they tried the same route to no avail. Now, can I make the large display on the lock screen do the same. It is currently displaying on the left side of the screen real tiny, and that's OK. Iwould like it to be as big as the time on the lock screen.

OK, while on the home screen, press and hold anywhere on a blank part of the screen, then will see the home screen shrink. At the bottom there will be four choices. Click on "Widgets", then  scroll down to "Clock" and click on that. There should be four choices there. Choose one to place on the home screen, then mess around with which works best.

For myself, I use a weather app from Google Play store, called "Today Weather". It is very customizable, choosing color scheme for both fonts and icons, background colors or even making the widgets transparent to allow the home screen background to come through. And it has a clock with specific settings too. This is a screenshot of my setup (there is a similar widget which allow the AM/PM display)....
