I just encountered a problem with the Samsung Gallery app on my S25 Ultra. I was watching a video that I recorded and the entire device froze and then shut down. When it turned back on, I went to find the video again however all of my Recent photos and videos were not in order. The dates on each photo are correct, but they're being displayed so strangely.
My camera roll appears last, towards the bottom, but all other content from other image folders like Facebook, X, Downloads, Quick Share are being displayed first, despite having older dates.
I'd like to add that when uploading a photo directly from apps like Instagram are seeing these out-of-place first before the actual recently taken photos.
Has this happened to anyone else? I really need a solution
Now, if I want to upload a photo to my Instagram story, I need to find it from the album it was saved in, rather than being able to scroll through the recent ones I've taken.
The recent items seem to be from non-camera folders and from 3 years ago
All new photos are saved in the camera album until you move them to another album. If you switch to the pictures tab, the photos are sorted in date order, so your most recent will be first. There is also a search feature. Pictures in all albums are also sorted in date order unless you changed it.

Are you referring to the "recent" album? That is not really an album, it's just a mirror to help you find recently added or accessed photos. They are generally shown in the order taken or accessed. So even if you accessed an older photo, it would show in the recents folder.

The recent album, correct. It's not showing me recently added photos though. And it's the default way of adding photos to third party apps too.
For example, now in Instagram, I can't just upload a photo I took a few hours ago. I need to go to the Samsung Gallery app and find the correct photo in the folder it was saved to. But I can't just get it from the recent ones because there's hundreds of photos I've taken from years ago there instead.
