How do I disable and remove the recording calling feature and the icon from the call screen on the S25+?

Just don't use it. It doesn't record automatically, you have to start it manually

Not true.  My new S25 has recorded many calls.  I did not turn it on

I have a new Galaxy S25 Ultra.  Frequently the phone has recorded calls without my permission.  I have tried to disable it but there is no option to disable or remove the feature.  There is a strange-looking app visible while the phone is recording.  I took the phone to an authorized Samsung repair shop but they could not remove the app or fix this issue.  This is a serious problem.  One female friend will not answer my calls because she believes I recorded the call intentionally.

Is there a toggle to turn that off? Open the phone app, the click on the three vertical dots on the top right. The choose settings, record calls and toggle off auto-record calls.

There should be a setting in the phone dialer settings to stop auto recording.  The record icon will remain on your dialer, but you have to manually press the icon to record (should you want to).  At present, you cannot remove or hide the icon.  If the call starts auto recording, just tap the icon to turn the record feature off.

I have tried everything, including taking the phone to professional repair locations recommended by Samsung.  No one has been able to resolve this issue

The main issue is that when the recording starts, it announces that it's recording.  Both parties can hear the announcement " Your call is being recorded."  One person will not take my calls anymore because of this issue.  I should not have to go through this stress, especially with a phone that was not cheap to purchase

I understand that there are situations and people who just like to keep the phone to their ear, but there are a few remedies to this.  1) Use speaker if feasible, 2) make sure you are holding the phone close enough and at an angle that the proximity sensor activates, 3) Use ear buds (keep at least one bud in at all times if you are an active caller).  This has the added advantage of keeping your hands free.  If one person won't take your calls because of an accidental activation of recording, that's on them.  The phone announces the recording, all you have to do is say, "whoops, sorry, I'll turn it off".

I agree that the record button is in an awkward and stupid place.  Before they took the recording option away, the record icon used to be on the phone dialer itself, nestled between the call and video icon.  I wonder, though, why everyone's faces keep hitting the record icon and not any of the numbers on the dial pad. Unless one has pointed cheeks, it would be very hard to target that *one* spot.  And, if their faces are touching the screen, they are close enough for the proximity sensor to be active.  I did notice that you basically need to be touching the screen for the proximity sensor to activate - it's not a "close enough" thing, there has to be contact.

I find it amusing, though, that after years of people screaming for the return of call recording, people are now screaming to have it removed.
