Only 3 notifications and 4 status icons at the top?

Is this for real: just set up my S25+, and I only see 3 notification icons at the top left plus a dot, and 4 status icons on the right (speaker, WiFi, signal, battery). When I swipe down, I see I have 7 notifications and 7 status icons. I can NEVER tell if my alarm, Bluetooth, or NFC is ON. What gives Samsung? Will you fix this? I finally retired my beloved S20+, and this is enough for me to dump the S25+ for something that isn't going backwards.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Am I missing something?

Do they still have this setting in the new UI? Notifications/advanced settings/show notification icons - you can show all notifications (I guess, even if it clutters up your status bar), or just the number of notifications so you know you how many you have without the clutter. I don't have the new UI yet, but I'm going to assume that except for any new settings, most settings remain in place. I could be wrong.

Thank you for the reply, the new UI says "Show app icon in Notifications". Here's a screenshot. I did see someone on Reddit asking the same question. 1738976690572.jpg

I don't know why they took that configuration setting away. I was thinking maybe they just moved it someplace else, but where else would they put it if not in the notification settings?  Perhaps it's something that will be added to one of the Good Lock modules when they are updated.

I understand the "3 icon plus dot" limit in the status bar is not configurable. If it is, SAMSUNG please tell me how. If it isn't, please fix this ... I want more than 3 icon notifications allowed on the status bar!

Why? As long as it tells you that you have notifications waiting, why does it matter if it tells you how many.  Obviously, if you get the dot, you know you have more than 3. When you pull down the shade, you will see exactly how many notifications you have.  Does having all the notifications showing on the status bar make you more or less likely to look at the notifications?  It's not as if you can tap one of the notification icons and go directly to that notification.  Some phones have, and certainly in the past, only had a blinking LED to inform you of notifications.

Yes it does. If I can see all the apps pushing notifications at a glance I can act on the ones that are most important to me.

You can still see them at a glance by pulling down the notification shade. The app icons are showing on the bubble, so unless you have 100 notifications, you can scan and see which ones you want to act on. You have to pull doen the shade anyway in order to act, since you cannot tap a notification icon and go directly to that notification. You can also set notification priorities and sort your notifications by priority so the important ones will be at the top.

I get that but if before I didn't have to interact at all before to see them. I don't want to click on anything or swipe anywhere to see what apps have pushed notifications.
