After one ui 8 my car will no longer hold a connection via Bluetooth. (2010 Mazda 3) I've had this car for 15 years, never had a connection issue until now. My phone works with my work vehicle and my friends iPhone 13 has no issues with my Mazda. I can't figure out the conflict! I've tried removing the device and starting fresh, but nope. The weird part is my phone connection will connect, stay connected, but the audio toggle for music won't stay connected and takes multiple times to connect. If it does connect, after i turn off my car, it won't reconnect like before one ui 8. It always connected the 1st time and always connected if i turned my car off and on again. Sorry for the rant, but it's driving me crazy.

Thanks for highlighting this. It looks like a broader Android 16 bug affecting Bluetooth connections with non-Android Auto car stereos, not just Samsung devices. Since itโ€™s been reported across multiple brands and persists from beta to stable, the fix likely needs to come from Google in a future Android update. In the meantime, reporting through Samsung Members and the Android Issue Tracker can help keep pressure on for a resolution.

If it's an Android 16 issue and not a Samsung one, you should be reporting it to Google. If it was only happening with Samsung phones, then reporting it to Samsung would influence Samsung to work with Google on a fix. Since it's across multiple brands, it's a Google issue alone.

I'm sorry. Samsung has yet to address this issue publicly despite constant reporting, it's really disappointing.

I've figured out that if you try to manually toggle the audio switch in the Samsung Bluetooth menu while already playing music on your phone, it will connect on the 3rd or 4th try.

It doesn't connect if music is not playing already

My Galaxy S25 is not connecting to my Android Auto now. It did at one point today then plugged it back in and it didn't. It keeps saying make sure I'm using a port with the phone icon in it which I am. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the recent update? Android Auto will not even detect. I thought maybe it was a fuse to the port so completely changed it out and still didn't work. Unpaired and phone and deleted it in the system and readded and it and I still get the same message. I am only ae to connect using Bluetooth.

Have you tried change the cable? I would try to restart the phone and then try to connect. Sometimes a good restart will do the trick if it is previously working

Forgot to mention, I did restart my phone as well as tried a different cable. Neither changed the outcome.

Another option is to open an issue with the android team to let them know that it stopped working after the update
