One UI 8 widgets Bug

I'm posting this here in case others run into the same issue. I find it rather suspect this bug didn't present itself to developers in the beta testing. But IMO I don't think they do a very good job at anything. 

After the update to one ui 8 my widgets had issues. Please see the screen captures of what it should look like and what it looked like after the upgrade. The widgets either only showed the gear icon and then appeared on the setup page, or as in the upper left the widget appeared as 4 circles.

When I went into the page set up they also appeared but couldn't do anything with them. Couldn't select nothing. I couldn't select and move on the page in non set up mode either.

I cleared cache partition as well as reboot my device a couple times. This did nothing but waste time. The solution to this is to delete the page and start over. It was the only way we could figure out how to get the widgets back.

There were many beta testers.  If this was a widespread issue, it would have been reported on and corrected.  Has it occurred to you that there may be some conflicting app or configuration on your phone interfering? 

It looks like on your middle widget you have full transparency enabled since I can see the settings option.  Try tapping the settings or long press on the widget to get to the widget settings and adjust the transparency.  Some widgets have transparency settings, some have background removal.

I tried playing with that gear icon. Didn't help. It doesn't contain transparency. I am not the only one to experience this issue. The one widget is for the Samsung Notes and other from Samsung's widgets. This was present on both phones which experienced this. Not sure why it happened.

I've also noticed my phone is really really warm now especially while charging. Makes me nervous to leave it unattended while charging.

My mistake, the gear icon that's showing is the app settings, not the widget settings.  To get to the widget settings, you have to long press on the widget (in your case, the seemingly blank spot that is the widget) and, when the menu comes up, tap the settings and then you can adjust the background either by adding it back or sliding the transparency to the level you want.  I assume you want it full solid, so slide it all the way up.

No prob. When this was happening it wouldn't let me select the widget as I tried that. Same for the circles. Couldn't select them. IE long press had no effect.

Very odd, If the widget exists in that space, which it does as evidenced by the visible controls and the blank space, you should be able to long press it to position it, remove it or adjust the widget settings. Have you tried pressing in different spots?  Since you rebooted and cleared the cache, your next option is to put in an error report and/or factory reset.  

This does appear to be an issue unique to you as, as yet, I have seen no other complaints about it.

My widgets don't do that. I was a beta tester. The Google app widgets did give them troubles in beta 2-4 not gonna lie. The search bar kept shrinking to a icon in stacked widgets. And my calendar sometimes didnt load. But everything else i use worked well

Looks to me like the middle widget is third party and seems to be the only one having issues, based on your screenshots. If that is the case, you will need to contact the app's developer to report a compatibility issue.

I personally only use first party widgets and have experienced 0 issues.

No. Please see the other posts. The issue was not only with that one but also with one directly from Samsung. The four circles in the upper left is where the Samsung notes and other widget should have been. Couldn't do anything to get rid of the circles.

I see. Still, have not experienced anything like this, nor have I seen any similar post in beta forum, and I have been in Ui8 beta since the first day it was available for my device.
