Usually starts with one model and can expand to others

Betas are usually on the latest device first, then expand to earlier devices after a few weeks.

But, it's also on factory unlocked devices on any carrier. The limit to locked T-Mobile devices is a carrier thing. AT&T and Verizon simply don't allow their locked devices in the beta. Samsung has no say in that.

And then there's all the unlocked S25 series devices worldwide that can be on the beta.

This same thought comes up every time a beta is published.

The latest flagship will always get it 1st, then the previous flagship, then everything else however they plan it. It's been that way since I had my note 20 years ago.

This isn't something new.

I didn't say the process was new; rather I am wondering why we can't have something new.

The beta has not showed up yet.And I haven't got it.I just got this from its brand new and I got an update the other day and it was only a security patch update that's about it.And the update UI 8 android 16 no 8.5 or beta yet when I set this phone up, it did not tell me that the sign up for the beta programming. And usually that's what it does because we used to have a samsung s twenty four f, e, and it did the same thing and then it never gave us the beta s25 ultra

It's out now but I just heard on YouTube that's it's not available on AT&T. I don't know why. They said it's available on T-Mobile and on the unlock version

If you are unable to enroll in the beta, it's because your device is ineligible. Samsung's software update distribution system works differently than Apple's.
Apple largely bypasses the carriers and does not allow them to modify firmware, while Samsung work with the carriers to distribute updates and allows carriers to modify the firmware on carrier locked devices.

Samsung betas are always limited to factory unlocked (not carrier unlocked) models with a model # ending in U1. T mobile is the exception to the rule, as they are the only US carrier that participates in the beta program.

If your device is ineligible, you will never get access to any beta program unfortunately. For future reference, it is always best to buy factory unlocked devices directly from Samsung.
