Location icon constantly keeps popping up

I have noticed that on this latest update the location icon keeps popping up in the status bar more than what it should be it didn't do that before this update is anyone experiencing the same issue

Now imagine if I had location accuracy on, it was literally 4 times the activity with the location accuracy. This is so beyond crazy.

Prior to the April 2025 update, the location icon would only appear in the top bar when an app was actively using location services (ie. Maps) but since that update it has been constantly visible, and I think it is contributing to poor battery life post update. 

Any solutions would be appreciated!

The phone app is using accurate location all the time wasting battery. Cannot turn off the permissions for this either.

John112233, check that yer weather widget is off in the clock settings, I had the same issue, then found that and turned it off, seems to have fixed it for me.

Go to permissions and remove the location.
