Location icon constantly keeps popping up

I have noticed that on this latest update the location icon keeps popping up in the status bar more than what it should be it didn't do that before this update is anyone experiencing the same issue

Unless you have some app or a modifier that is able to display (or not) that green icon on your home screen in the status bar, I would like to know that. But on the home screen, the green icon is not shown in the status bar, only the smaller white one can be. The green icon is only shown in the quick panel pull down in the status bar.

Tapping it does NOT clear the notification / remove the icon. There is no other way to hide the icon via settings either...

This has been an issue for many. Mine is on too, but I do not use QuickStar to hide it as I can toggle off my location in the quick panel and it disappears when I do not want the location to eb accessed.. It needs to be fixed. Anyway, if you do not want to see that indicator for now, open the Galaxy Store app, search for and install the Good Lock app. Then open Good Lock and you will get a list of available plugins. Download and install QuickStar. Open that, then click on "Visibility of Indicator Icons" , scroll to toggle location and it will hide the location indicator in the status bar .

My main concern is why is my location being used 24/7 and that it's draining my battery when that green location icon is showing. On my phone it's google play services and phone services that are using location nonstop and you can't turn them off

Turn off your location setting in the quick panel.

I did, but so many other apps need to use location to function properly. I shouldn't have to turn it off manually you know.

OK, that is fine but if one is at home for example, why use location and save battery power?  If allowing apps to keep using one's location is draining battery power, then try only to use it when needed. I get there seems to be an issue with battery drain on higher levels and that certainly needs to be fixed. I myself do not have that issue even if I leave the GPS on (location setting).

Also, in the Member app, send feedback to your issue in the support function.

Exactly. Its NOT an issue. Location was being used since long time only difference now with new update is that it TELLS you that its running. Thats it. It was constantly ON for every update and phone.
Battery drain while phone is ideal is different issue not related to location being used.

It IS an issue. It's an obnoxious design that pulls your attention to something that doesn't need it. Like any other notification, you should be able to control what you receive.

The system app Phone Services is checking for location every 1-3 minutes which is draining your battery. This is a bug from the April update for the S24 and S25. Make sure to send feedback to Samsung so they fix this issue.
