My current Samsung message app is failing me. Because no messages are going out. No messages are coming in that are 1 to 1. If they are in a group a lot of times they work a lot of times they don't. Google Play is helpless in giving me multiple choices of messaging apps. When I was perfectly happy for a decade with samsung's default message apps with no ads. I hate to go to the T-Mobile store because they're. I will get an opinion, not a professional analysis.

Samsung messages is officially deprecated and will be discontinued entirely at some point.

Google Messages is the new default messaging app for Samsung devices. Official guidance suggests that you ought to transition to Google messages ASAP for the best messaging experience on your Samsung device.

Google Messages is my recommendation. I've had absolutely no issues with it.

It's the only app anyone needs, frankly. Near-universal support for advanced messaging features should be enough to make anyone switch. Superior spam filtering is a big bonus.

Why does Samsung do/not do anything? It's not like we peons will ever know. We only buy their products.

I understand the inclination to proceed with caution and move slowly, but at this point they are they only OEM with a proprietary messaging app. The slow d3ath/gradual gutting approach seems to me an unnecessarily painful way of doing things.
