How to I change Map directions to horizontal when rotate phone?

How do I change google maps direction mode to rotate to landscape when I rotate my phone horizontally? I used to be able to do that and then it just stopped working that way.

Make sure auto-rotate is turned on in quick settings. If the icon is not there, tap the pencil and add it.

If you don't like to have all apps auto-rotate, you can use Modes & Routines to auto rotate only a few select apps.

In Modes and Routine, create a new routine as follows:

Name - Name the routine whatever you would like

If  -  App opened (add the apps you want to auto rotate here)

Then - Screen orientation (set to Auto rotate)

When routine ends - Screen orientation (set to Return to status before routine ran)

Make sure you have auto rotate on.
