Google messages app duplicated

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? I now have two apps of Google Messages and they both open to the same list of conversations. I've tried uninstalling and disabling and it doesn't remove either one. This is a first for me.

Yes it's a known bug with Google Messages Beta they are working on it

@Bakerboo43  Check to see if you have a Google Messages update which they pushed earlier to resolve this

Sadly the update didn't fix it.

Have you heard of anything? Because it's still not fixed. Seems odd for Google to have such an issue for so long.

They fixed it a few days ago you have to install the new Google Messages update and restart your phone and some have had to wipe the cache partition afterwards.
