I’ve noticed an issue with notifications on my Galaxy S25.
Whenever I receive WhatsApp messages, I see the notification panel alerts and the app icon badge shows the unread count correctly. But as soon as I open WhatsApp (even if I don’t read all the messages), the notification badge disappears.
It is impossible to keep track of the unread messages like this, since the badge clears even though multiple chats are still unread. I’m very disappointed and considering going back to my old phone, since these notification settings are VERY buggy and not worth to deal with it.
I also noticed that Dual Messenger handles the notifications a "bit better". In the Dual Messenger version of WhatsApp, the icon badges keep track of the unread messages correctly. However, it doesn’t show the notifications in the notification panel anymore after a range of time (that I'm trying to figure out exactly).
In the Dual Messenger WhatsApp notification settings, there’s even an option called:
“Clear Count” → “Your home screen badge clears completely after every time you open the app.”
This option gives more control over badge behavior. Unfortunately, in the normal WhatsApp version, this option does not exist!!!
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a system setting or workaround to prevent the normal WhatsApp badge from clearing automatically when opening the app?
Thats because whats app actually isn't a secure as people think, just think about it, why would it be more secure than any other app that has a privacy policy
