Galaxy S25 Ultra: not receiving email/text message notification sound alerts

Hey has anyone experienced not receiving email or text message notifications and sound alerts? If so can some please help? I have talked to Verizon twice and been in communication with Samsung. Nothing has worked. Apparently this is common with this phone.

Are those the only notification sounds you are not getting?  Make sure your notification settings haven't changed for those apps and that your notification categories are on.  Also make sure those apps are still allowed to send notifications and they have not been switched off.  If you just had an update, updates have been known to change some settings.

How to turn on notifications catergories? When I clicked on the text message then the contact then details, it says notifications category block but I don't see an option anywhere to turn it on. It says this for all my contacts in my text messages

Settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for all apps. Return to your messaging app settings, make sure incoming or new messages is on. If you only want norifications from a spwcific chat, go into that chat and tap the dot menu, select details, then notifications and make sure notifications are turned on and set a custom sound if you desire.

Thank you! They sent me a new phone and all because we couldn't figure out what the problem was. Chatgpt told me to check contact details and that's where I found notifications blocked on every contact. Now I am receiving them! Thanks again!

OMG thank you so much for your comment!! After the update I stopped receiving text notifications and it was super frustrating. I looked everywhere in mt notifications to make sure they were on but because I never had categories turned on before I never looked in that section until I read your message. Fixed the issue immediately! I appreciate you!

So frustrated. Mine works part of the time and part of the time the only notification I get is on my watch. Nothing on my phone other than the bubble on the screen. I've done everything suggested multiple times and I'm ready to throw this out the window. Wish I'd never upgraded to this phone.
