When extend unlockbis enabled it disables showing contact info on the lock screen. Defeats the purpose of showing contact info if you lose your phone.

Extend unlocked is for when you are in a trusted place, such as your home. When the phone leaves that trusted place, extended unlock turns off. Your contact info will then appear on the device.

That's incorrect. Contact info does not show regardless of whether in a trusted local or not.

Which of the 3 methods of extended unlock are you using?
Trusted places will not show contact info in a trusted place.
Trusted devices' contact information will not show when near the Trusted device.
Any of the 3 methods if the conditions are met CONTACT INFORMATION will not be displayed. When none of the conditions are met, contact information will show. This is in hoping that someone who has found a lost device does the right thing and uses it to contact you.
If the phone is stolen, they aren't contacting you unless for ransom!
