I just upgraded from an S20 to the Samsung Edge and I'm really bummed that the Samsung Video Player app is now just baked into the Gallery app. It makes everything more difficult and I wish they would just allow the Video Player to be a standalone app once again.

It would also be helpful if the Gallery app allowed you to edit/change/select the tabs on the bottom (Photos, Albums, Stories, etc.) I never use stories so having the ability to put the "Video" tab would make things much easier.

I can't be alone in feeling this way, right?!

While Samsung no longer has its own native video player app, the VLC player for Android from the Google Play Store is pretty robust and does not contain ads, etc. I do agree that people should be able to put the categories on the bottom when opening the Gallery app and see what categories can be put there as they see fit.  That has never been a function as far as I can remember, but would be a great one to have.

As for the options at the bottom. Yeah, they either need to allow us to rearrange as we want or move the video to replace the stories. Some of the things Samsung does really doesn't make sense.

I don't think the menu selection works by "open in video", rather accessing existing videos as aggregated by that type, or creating one by selecting an existing video, then adding stickers, etc to it as making a movie.
