I've always liked the direct text and direct call widgets. They are very time-saving. With the S25 it looks like they got rid of the direct text widget, though they kept the direct dial. I can't think of a reason in the world. I hope it comes back in an update.
This method doesn't work with my newly bought S25 Edge. Pressing the three dots on the lower right corner of a contact doesn't have the option "direct text." Here's what works: Go to contact Select contact Tap three dots lower right "more" Select "add to Home screen" This brings up three choices: Direct dial Direct Message View Contact Info Select Direct Message Another box pops up: Add to Home Screen? Select Add. Select another contact you want to direct text, and repeat steps above. Drag the second direct text over the first to create a folder. Add as many direct text contacts as you want. I named my folder Direct Text. You can do the same for direct calls. This gets around the limits of the built-in widget which only allows four contacts. Smaller too, takes up less space.
