How do I put an alphabetical INDEX up for my contacts, so I'm not always scrolling to get to contact at the end of my list?

The only way I know of is to swipe up and down on the right edge of the screen and you will get ABCDEFH.......... and just stop on the letter you need.

My s25does not have the alphabetical column on the right side of the screen🫩

If you put your finger on the edge and start to swipe down you should see it

Actually, what I think the OP wants is not to scroll at all, but just see the index and tap the letter to get to the section he wants.  We know that is not possible, scrolling or searching has to be done.

AS @GaryB82 noted, jsut pay attention to when the scrolling begins. A translucent scroll bar will appear on the right side of the screen and then disappear if not used for more than a second. Once touched and held, the large letters will appear when moving the touch up or down.

You don't have to scroll, there's a search function, you only need to type 1-3 characters to find your contact.  Or, as @GaryB82 stated, there's an alphabet slider along the right side of the contacts.  You don't even actually have to go to your contacts list, just start typing the name of your contact in the dialer using the keypad, then when the contact you want appears, tap it to dial.

I have always had my contacts in alphabetical order
