Purchased a Galaxy S25+. Messages default to "RCS message".

Ever since this purchase I cannot receive any messages send from my e-mail address (which was working fine with the previous, S21, phone).

When I send a text to my phone from my e-mail (and I have tried this from 3 different e-mails as well as Yahoo and GMail) what shows on the phone is an icon of a down-point arrow (the icon associated with "download").

Tapping on this icon has no effect. The icon persists and the content of the message does not show.

How can I receive messages from an e-mail address?

Which messaging app are you using?  Are you sending texts using your email address because you don't have a carrier?

The message app, on the phone, is the default one, "Messages", that came pre-installed.

The e-mail addresses have been from different carriers; Yahoo, Gmail, AOL.

The messages have, all, been from these e-mail addresses to my cell phone number.

Which, since the new phone, have started presenting the above issue.

I meant are you sending texts by email because you don't have a mobile carrier? Samsung messages is barely being supported, so download and start using Google messages and see if it works better?

Currently using "Google Messages". At least, that is what shows when I access my messages.

E-mail to text is simply a way to get long messages to my phone. Currently using a PC for Internet searches and is easier to use e-mail for long content. E.g. 20 top restaurants or 50 best movies or anything that is long.

Easier to copy/paste in an e-mail and send, text message, to the phone rather than typing all that into the phone.

You know wirh Google mesages, you can pair it wirh your browser and view, type and send messages from your computer. Tap your avatar in Google messages and select device pairing. In your browser, go to messages.google.com

I realize there are many, other, solutions.

However, the solution I am looking for, at the moment, is:

Is there a way to have messages sent from an e-mail account show up, as text, on my S25+?

That, I can't answer, maybe someone else can.  I don't have any reason to send a text from email - wouldn't even know how to do it.  I'm sorry.  I hope someone can help you.
