Galaxy S25Hi All,
I have a routine on my S25 Ultra to turn on extended unlock based on my home wifi network. Getting home after work, this routine triggers exactly correctly.
I also have enabled auto-restart every day at around 0400. I find that when I wake in the morning around 0700, my phone will ask me to input my pattern as my phone has restarted. This task seems to be working exactly correctly as well.
The issue, however, is that after unlocking my phone in the morning, the routine for extended unlock fails to recognize that I am connected to my home wifi network.
I can toggle wifi off and on and the routine will not recognize a trigger has been met. I can disable and re-enable the routine and it still doesn't recognize that a trigger has been met.
I can get the routine to execute correctly by manually rebooting, or going into the routine and re-selecting the same wifi network that I'm already connected to. Selecting the active network and saving changes to the routine, it will recognize that I'm on the correct network and the routine will execute. I've also found that by power cycling the router, the routine will successfully fire once the router has rebooted. All of these options are a lot more "hands-on" than I'd like them to be, given these processes are supposed to be automatic.
If anyone had any recommendations on what might be causing this or what I can look into to I'd be happy to take your suggestions, thanks for your time.

Galaxy S25Your routine is working fine. The way extend unlock works is that it will keep your phone unlocked for up to four hours at a time. It will lock and request a fingerprint to unlock after a missed call or notification, then continue to remain unlocked. After a restart (either manual or automatic), and/or after 72 hours on extend unlock you will always be required to enter your pin/password/pattern. This is for your security and privacy. Sometimes after a restart or after unlocking it can take a minute or two for the routine to start even if you have reconnected with your network.
You can add multiple networks to a single routine, so if you want it to remain unlocked at your home, your grandma's home, work, etc. you can add all those networks and it will remain unlocked in those places, provided the phone was initially unlocked when the routine is triggered. The routine will not automatically unlock your device when the trigger is active - the phone must be already unlocked for the routine to start. So, when you enter your home, if your phone is locked, you will have to unlock it even though it is connected to your network. It will remain unlocked under the circumstances outline above. As I said, once you hit 72 hours or the phone has been restarted, you have to unlock the phone initially.

Galaxy S25I understand that I will need to unlock the phone after a restart. The issue is that even after unlocking the phone, extended unlock never takes effect because the routine has not been triggered because the routine does not recognize that I'm currently connected to the listed network.

Galaxy S25Not sure if that is an image issue, but that toggle to 'check network name only" does not appear greyed out, which would indicate that it cannot be enabled. Anyway, do you have the 'extended unlock' in the "Lock screen and AOD' setting enabled with 'specific trusted places' added, etc? AKAIR, that is needed before setting up a routine.

Galaxy S25If one creates a routine, one does not need to have extend unlock "trusted places" enabled or even have extend unlock enabled at all. The routine enables it. One usually creates a routine because "trusted places" is unreliable, as Google Maps which does not know the size of a particular location does not always cover all areas of an address and, as in my case, the location of my address is completely wrong. It is notoriously incorrect in apartment buildings and other multi-unit dwellings.

Galaxy S25I have no issue with my extend unlock routine with restarts, automatic or manual. I don't know why you are having an issue as your routine is certainly configured properly. I assume this is a recent development. Did anything change recently in either your wi-fi configuration or your phone? Are you on the beta? Did you have a recent OS update?
I can suggest that perhaps if you either delete and recreate the routine or just reconfigure the existing routine to remove and then re-add your wi-fi network, it may enable the routine to work properly.
Have you tried clearing the phone's cache partition? This has been known to fix a lot of issues.

Galaxy S25Regarding your message to me directly: I am new to this Samsung phone, I received the massive upgrade from the S23 FE to the S25 Ultra and have been loving it. So in that respect everything is a recent development. I enjoy probing the settings menus to find how my phone can work for me.
I don't believe I'm on the beta, no. This issue has persisted over several Samsung updates - I'm not sure if they're full OS updates as you reference, but I will say that I try to frequently stop by the updates section of the settings page and make sure I'm up to date.
I have unfortunately tried to delete and recreate the routine. My first routine, the one I pictured in my OP, was built around both my work and my home wifi networks. Since troubleshooting, I broke this out into two separate routines for the two separate networks. It's consistently only my home network that seems to not trigger the routine, and consistently only in the morning after a restart. I'd like to assure once again I am familiar with having to unlock my phone for the first time before extended unlock will extend the unlock period.
I have not cleared the phones cache partition, nor am I familiar with this, so I will look this up and post my results here. Thank you again for your time and detailed attention!

Galaxy S25Just another note, as I am re-reading this. Is the routine actually not working after unlocking in the morning? Sometimes it takes a beat for the notification to appear (if at all), since OneUI7.0 effectively eliminated persistent notifications (which can be turned on in Notistar). If you go to modes & routines, it will tell you if the routine is running.
