Since the last update Android auto keeps disconnecting when I hard wire to the car. It then reconnects automatically. Any ideas why?

You can try uninstalling the update and a reinstall.

If meaning the February update, do this. Remove the device from the cars lists of connected device, then plug the phone back into the car sees it and that should help.
If that fails, and follow that procedure again, and before connecting it again, go to settings/apps then click on Android auto, then storage and clear out the cache and the data.

My experience is that this is usually caused by the cable.
