Galaxy S25

Broke my S23 Ultra a couple weeks ago. Bought the S25 base model. $850 through Spectrum....

What a cheap feeling, poor performimg P.O.S.! **bleep**, Samsung? What an utter disappointment of a phone! Feels cheap, laggy, buggy, tiny screen, just an all out pile of garbage. My S3 was a better phone, both in the hand and it's performance. This S25 is just sad. HIGHLY overpriced junk.

Paid $350 to fix my S23 Ultra. A phone that actually FEELS AND PERFORMS like a true, quality, flagship phone.

Highly doubt I'll buy another Samsung in the future. At least not any base models. Definitely not unless I can at least get one in hand first. This will go in the drawer as a very last resort in case I break this phone again.

If you're thinking of buying an S25, base model, be prepared to be insanely disappointed. Look at other phones, even other OEM's (not Apple, though, they suck in general).

I'm seeing the S25 Ultra for about the same price as what I paid for this hunk of junk right now, so maybe try that route, but I can't speak to the Ultras quality, but it CANT be as bad as this S25, so, go it at your own risk.

Ok. You went from an Ultra to a base model and you're surprised that the screen is smaller? Did you hold the device or read specs before purchase?

As for being "buggy and laggy," what tasks are you trying to do that the Snapdragon 8 Elite is not capable of handling?

There are several areas where the base model cannot compete with the Ultra. That's why Ultras are Ultras, they are the best device in the lineup year after year and nothing else can compete.

At the end of the day, it is incumbent upon the consumer to do adequate research before making a major purchase. Hopefully you are still within the return window and can trade up to the s25U, which will be more of lateral move and a true upgrade.

Think they didn't look at screen size

The difference between 6.8 and 6.2 didn't seem that big of a difference, until it's in hand.

Being a base model, it's still a huge disappointment of a product

Just using it for basic, everyday tasks, and it's like I'm using a phone from 15 years ago.

Point still remains, for a late model phone, it's a giant letdown in just about all aspects.

I would disagree that the point remains.

Again, it is incumbent upon the consumer to do adequate research before making a major purchase. There are plenty of tools available showing the size difference.
https://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Samsung-Galaxy-S25,Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Ultra/phones/12340,1234...

There are also detailed video comparisons available. It is also possible to go to almost any carrier store or department store and hold the models without purchasing them immediately.

Beyond that, the 3 tiers of screen sizes have been roughly the same since ~2019. If you have been a Samsung user and purchased a phone at any time within the past 6 years, you should be pretty familiar with the available sizes.

I hope you can understand how difficult it is to believe that a device millions use every day without any issue, featuring one of the most powerful processors on the face of the planet, is performing "like a phone from 15 years ago."

If you believe you have somehow received a defective device that isn't performing properly, you can take it to a certified samsung repair center to have it diagnosed by a certified technician. If there is a manufacturer defect (not damage plausibly caused by the end user,) repairs will be covered under warranty.

The only change on the s25 compared to the s24 was removing features and lowering the camera quality! And I'm not saying it as a joke it is quite literally all samsung did with the s25 models! Nobody should be purchasing any galaxy past the s24 ultra if you want the quality that we've been accustomed to. Hopefully they don't pull some more bs with the next lineup when it rolls out.

I agree. It sure is way overpriced for the "quality" and features you get.

People break their phones or the device become nonfunctional themselves, that happens. But if one bought the S23 ultra device, they must have know the other two choices in the S23+ and the base model. Either they would have seen the specs on the site where purchased or if bought in-store, they would have clearly seen the physical differences.

Why $850 was spent for a base model now put in a drawer instead of just paying $350 for a repair, is not a road I would have taken, especially using both options that cost $1200 total. An S25U 512gb/12gb model could have been bought at Samsung for $1070 with a fresh one year warranty.

I bought it only because it would be here in 2 days, vs waiting a week for the repair shop getting a new screen. After a few days using it, I decided getting the S23 ultra fixed was the only option. So, I bit the bullet and got my Ultra fixed. I'm not happy I spent that much either, lol. Wasn't exactly my plan.

I knew the specs were different, but never could I imagine how cheap and underperforming even the base model would be.

Buy one, try it. You'll be exceptionally disappointed. That is unless your last phone was an etch-a-scetch.

I stand by my warning. If you are thinking of buying the S25 base model, be warned, it's a huge disappointment.

The difference between an ultra 2 models back, and the base model of the latest model, is just mind blowingly **bleep** poor.

My s25 Ultra is also disappointing.  The audio is not working - when a track has a period of silence, eg between chapters in an audiobook or at the of a music track the sound does not play in earphones. Also when I play netflix and spotify. In spotify played via car media player it switches to next track before end of the current track. This is pretty basic stuff, and for au$2k outrageous. I'm going to return it if they cannot fix it (which they did not sound optimistic about when I spoke to support team this morning).
