AOD turns of for a few hours

My aod turns off for several hours in the middle of the night. I don't have it on a routine or scheduled times. I have aod set at always show. Tried clearing cache, clearing cache partition with no remedy. 

Is this a One UI 8 bug?

Correction: What I described is the expected behavior when the AOD is set to Auto.

Is it? No matter what time I crack open an eye in the middle of the night, my clock is visible. But, rhen I charge at night so it's plugged in.

Do you have power saving on or is you battery going low enough to go into power saving mode? That will turn off the AOD.

My AOD always turns off when I am in a dark room for an extended period. Maybe there's a setting I'm not aware of, but I've had at least 2 devices where this is the default behavior

I never adjusted any settings, it's just always on. Even in an inside cabin on cruise ship.

I have my AOD settings set to show always. You may have yours on auto which will turn it off in a dark place.

Just checked. Mine is set to Auto, which would explain the difference in behavior.

However, it seems OP's device is behaving as if it were on Auto despite being set to Always show.

The only other explanattions would be that either the setting got changed with the update, or they do not have it on tne charger and it's entering power saver mode.

I hope they readjust this...I like having the clock displayed thru the night.
