Why the Charging input can't be on the side of the phones?

Why not changing the input for charging from buttom to the side of the phones ?

Look at any teardown of any smartphone to see how all the components are arranged. Then figure out how to move the USB port to the side.

I think it would be extremely annoying to have the charging port on the side, especially if you were using your phone while it was charging or playing a game. You would end up putting pressure on it with your hand while holding it, eventually wearing out the charging port. My suggestion is, if you don't like the charging port being at the bottom and you're not using your phone while it's charging, then buy a charging pad and charge it wirelessly.😊

The point is when drivers for example uses the phone vertically on a tight position , having the port on the side is better for both phone and charging cable .. it will help the phone to stand still wherever you put on .

@ABDERRAZZAK You should be aware that Google Maps while navigating will flip to the correct orientation if you stand the phone on the top. I don't see your logic that the phone will sit better if the charging port is on the side. 

And your entire logic about drivers is invalid if you believe your statement "...using a phone while plugged is not a good idea".

In my opinion, that would be awful. You would either have the charging cable digging into your hand or sticking out in the air while holding it. The bottom is the best location for the charging port.
