Updated contact phone number won't sync to watch

I recently updated my son's phone number in my Galaxy s24 ultra. It will not sync and update my Galaxy watch. I have shut down and restarted both separately and at the same times and deleted the contact and re-edited it but it still will not show his new phone number.
