So, I've been running my phone 'naked' but with a clear film protector. Yesterday, I was getting out of my car, and it slipped from my lap. I've had the exact scene myself from setting the phone so extremely safe in your lap, then 20 miles go by, and the brain erased that deadly activity. I escaped the exploded screen scene. But corner of frame saved the impression. Cheers
Just because the surface survived, does not mean nothing was damaged internally. You should run a full diagnostic.
