Tapping lockscreen clock prevents unlock

Is anyone having issue with tapping the lock screen clock and being prevented from entering your password or using your fingerprint to unlock? 

To produce this issue, tap the lock screen clock and it will expand it to show the clock with seconds. This completely blocks any touch screen input so there is no way to input the password pin or fingerprint when the clock is expanded. The only way to get out is to press the side button to close the screen or wait like 10 seconds for it to time out. 

I've tried to disabling hold and touch on the lock screen settings and disabling roaming clock but that has no effect on this behavior on the clock lock screen.

I don't use side swipes and that bar has always been there on mine

I have them hidden, it has never been on my secondary clock screen.

No I use the 3 swipe up's but the back bar is the only one that appears on that screen I thought you were referring to the swipe from the edge to go back

We have hints turned off, thats why we don't see it.

I like the hints tinted yellow but gotta admit thats the first time I can remember tapping on the clock to bring up the clock

I actually forgot you could click on the clock to get the clock

When you tap the clock or go into lock screen edit mode a small left pointing arrow appears on the lower left of your screen. This is the back button. Tapping that will bring you back to your normal lock screen, where you can then swipe up to enter your credentials or use your fingerprint. This has always been the way it works.

I don't have that arrow. I think its because I'm using swipe gestures.
