Samsung messages doesn't offer RCS chat

Does anybody know why the Samsung messages on my s24+ doesn't have the new RCS chat I even try looking it up on my galaxy store to see if the app may need to be updated but it no longer pops up on the galaxy store when searched and isn't on my apps library in the galaxy store but my partner recently just got the Samsung s25 and we downloaded the Samsung messages app from the galaxy store and it has RCS chat on his app

Yeah see unfortunately I don't think it's available on the s24+ sucks

I also believe it depends on the carrier. Mine is T-Mobile

I have at&t so does my partner and he has the RCS chat so I am not understanding if it is a carrier thing is shiuld have it aswell but I don't

Yes we both have AT&T but he has the s25 i have the s24+

The phone being unlocked should have no bearing, it's the model that has that version of Samsung messages that would make it possible, so, if it works on his, it should work on yours should you decide to upgrade. Understand, though, that this is a weaning off procees for Samsung, and it is likely that they will still put Messages out to pasture.

Yeah you have a valid point just sucks cause I've had a rocky experience using Google messages years ago so I've relied on Samsung messages but hoping google messages has major bug fixed and upgrades for the better when it comes down to the mandatory switch

For Samsung messages, it's only in certain models but for S series it's not available

Yeah I know I find it such a huge bummer that it's available to only certain Samsung models

It is available on certain S models, (S24 FE, maybe the S24 sand definitely the S25). Dome of the newest other models may be able to download the version without RCS. And not available on any other device with RCS. If one does not see it available in the Galaxy store, it is not available for their phone. Phones that already have Samsung messages will be able to keep and use it, but if they have to reset, they will not get it back.

Yeah so i have the s24+ and i currently have Samsung messages installed but when I try to search it in the galaxy store and in my apps library in the galaxy store unfortunately it does not show up at all so like you said I can still use it cause I do have it installed but it doesn't show up anymore in the galaxy store so therefore I am still using Samsung messages but only the advanced messesing version not the RCS chat features sucks it isn't available for my model phone I am guessing at this point
